Literature Text

I always catch you looking into the atmosphere
like clouds are only potential
rain

you don’t have to apologize for yourself

I once dated a man
solely because I thought being broken
would improve my poetry

I understand why people are
turned into objects
for the sake of art or
pleasure

why the end should sometimes be
acknowledged with a shrug
before the beginning can even
commence

I know why you keep the glass
half empty and yourself
half gone
hm

:faint: your words continue to stun me. You carefully select each one, which supports just the right amount of intensity and impact, making your poems a real treat to experience! The first stanza, in particular, I just loved. You've just really shown yourself here, in my opinion, and I'm honored to be able to read such heartfelt words!

Goodness, I can really relate here. I didn't date anyone, but I put myself into a lot of situations (even denied myself medication), because I thought my poetry would benefit. I do think that in the eye of the storm, we can come up with some insightful things, but I don't think it's entirely worth it. It's just heartbreaking, I guess, to see this cycle. You captured it beautifully here.

Your last stanza hit the hardest (which was wonderful, because everything ended on a nice note). It just says so much! The diction was marvelous, and I just wanted to squeal in complete adoration of this segment. What beauty in suffering and understanding, laid to paper to gift insight and to sate curiosity. I really, really loved this one, and I think a lot of it had to do with the ending and the concept.

Bravo :rose:
